Rawlings Baseball Gloves

Rawlings gloves and mitts are without a doubt their finest product, and mainstay in the baseball industry. Rawlings has been crafting gloves since the early 1900's and they continue to be innovative in design and performance. Rawlings offers over 15 different series of gloves, with various models in every price range. Rawlings gloves can be used by a young t-ball player, girls fastpitch team, the retired city softball player, or the professional baseball player. Whether it's an entry level glove or one for the highly skilled and competitive player, Rawlings has a glove with your name on it.

The Pro Preferred series, the same series used by the professionals such as Albert Pujols, Alex Rodriguez, and Johan Santana; is the top notch glove from Rawlings. Made out of full grain leather, with deerskin lining, and 100% wool padding; luxury, comfort, and performance couldn't be intertwined any better.

Rawlings also offers moderate price range gloves such as the Gold Glove. Based off the same patterns and models as the Pro Preferred series the Gold Glove offers durability and easier break in periods for the advanced little league or travel ball player.

Rawlings even entices young players to join the game and grab a glove, the Lightning series is geared for young players beginning their baseball/softball career. The Lightning series offers a unique glove that lights up when the ball is caught, Rawlings innovative way to bring new players to the game of baseball.

Which glove is right for me? This question isn't uncommon among the baseball and softball players. As a rule of thumb, infielders typically use an 11" to a 12" pattern this makes it easier to retrieve the ball from the pocket and make a quick throw to roll the double or gain that crucial out. Pitchers normally use a closed web, that way the batter or third base coach can't see what pitch is being thrown. Pitchers often use a large infield glove to a small outfield glove, anywhere from 11 3/4" to 12 1/4" pattern. Outfielders use a larger glove so they have the extra room to catch the ball in flight. These gloves range from 12 1/4" to 12 3/4" patterns. For softball most players use at least a 12 1/4" pattern glove but they can range up to a 13" or 14" pattern, this makes it easier to accommodate the larger ball. When choosing a glove keep in my mind the position you play, the level of competition you're playing at, and how often you intend to play.
