Rawlings Catcher's Protective Equipment
Rawlings catcher equipment offers you to play comfortably and safely. All Rawlings catcher gear is approved for safety by the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE). Catchers equipment is offered in a variety of designs, sizes, colors, and all price ranges.
Catchers gears comes in three sizes, Adult, Intermediate, and Youth. Adult gears is for ages 16 & up, Intermediate is for ages 12-16, and the youth gear is designed to fit ages 9-12. Possibly Rawlings most popular style, the Coolflo series, comes in Adult, Intermediate, and Youth sizes. The helmet is made of ultra light, high strength aluminum. This makes a Rawlings helmet 25% lighter than comparable models. Interior padding is composed of a lightweight Pro Dri Plus foam, wicking away moisture and creating an anti-bacterial environment. The helmet is available in Adult, and Youth sizes (players that are in the intermediate size range wear Adult helmets) in the two tone finish. The colors it's available in are Black, Cardinal, Dark Green, Maroon, Navy, Purple, Royal, Silver, and Scarlet.
The Coolflo chest protector introduces the Exclusive Dynamic Fit System, allowing the player greater ranges of motion, and flex. The Pro Dri Plus material that's used in the helmet, is also applied to the chest protector once again wicking away moisture, and providing heat management. The foam used in the chest protector is a type of "Memory Foam," it tends to conform to the players body and cradle the ball on impact. In other words instead of a ball hitting you and bouncing off, the ball is cradled by the memory foam and absorbs the impact. Ergonomically designed air vents continue to help manage heat, keeping players cool on the hottest of days. The chest protector is offered in the Adult, and Intermediate sizes in the same colors as the helmet. Youth Coolflo chest protectors are only offered in Black, Royal, Scarlet and Navy colors.
The Coolflo leg guards are lightweight and designed with an extended shin plate and smaller triple knee designs, this increases protection and range of movement. The shin plate is also vented for comfort, and heat reduction. Lined with the same Pro Dri Plus material as the helmet and chest protector, your leg guards will wick away moisture allowing for optimal comfort and sanitation. Better yet, these pads are removable and machine washable. The pad coverings of the leg guard are a strong ballistics nylon, resisting the most serious of tears to the fabric. Once again these leg guards are offered in the same colors as the Coolfo helmet and chest protector, except for the Youth. The youth leg guard is only offered in the Black, Royal, Scarlet and Navy colors.
While the Coolflo gear is probably the most popular, Rawlings has gear for everyone. If you don't like the Hockey style helmets, they offer the more traditional Catchers Mask is two different models. They also have catchers gear for young players in age groups 5-9, made of material that won't break the bank but still offer superior protection. Catchers gear for Women is also available, even in the Coolflo series.
Don't forget you "Knee Relievers" when purchasing catchers gear. These "Knee Relievers" provide support and cushion to your knee, crouching for long periods of time is no longer an issue.
